Cost
These workshops are free of charge to any active KTS student studying a Certificate III qualification.
Who should attend the Mentor Skills Workshop?

These workshops are ideal for students who are currently enrolled in:

CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support

CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability)
If you’re already working in the industry and want to build confidence, sharpen your practical skills, and connect with others in your field, these workshops are for you!

Location
These workshops are hosted at our training facility in Wyong. At the Wyong Training Centre there are food outlets surrounding the building, however please feel free to bring your own lunch if you wish as you will have access to a fridge and microwave. Instant tea and coffee facilities are also available. Cups are provided and you are welcome to bring your own cup / travel mug should you wish.
How to enrol
Please review the live course dates below that suit you to attend, select ‘REGISTER NOW’ to complete your enrolment form securely online. Upon the successful completion of the enrolment form you will receive a confirmation letter via email or mail confirming your enrolment, into the applicable course.
Education Support
This workshop aims to provide opportunities to:
- Enhance your strategies for managing challenging behaviours
- Practice developing learning support resources for literacy and numeracy
- Strengthen your role in fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Practice communication and teamwork in an educational setting
- Build confidence in working one-on-one and in small groups to meet individual student needs
Early Childhood
This workshop aims to provide opportunities to:
- Practice documenting observations and linking them to learning outcomes
- Design developmentally appropriate and inclusive learning experiences
- Explore strategies to support children’s wellbeing and emotional growth
- Understand child development and the role of play in learning
- Learn how to create safe and nurturing environments for young children
- Gain practical experience in planning and facilitating early learning activities
Individual Support
This workshop aims to provide opportunities to:
- Deepen your understanding of complex care needs and adaptive equipment
- Practice effective communication with clients who have varying abilities
- Strengthen your ability to promote independence and uphold client dignity in everyday care
- Discuss real-world care challenges and explore person-centred responses
- Explore ways to build stronger, more respectful relationships with the people you support
- Strengthen understanding of boundaries, dignity of risk, and ethical decision-making in daily care
